The game itself would be Amazon Game Studios (The Collective merged to form Double Helix who were acquired by Amazon) or EA depending on if the developer or publisher maintained the game rights. But neither have the Buffy license to release a remaster even if they wanted to.

When their license agreement with Fox expired EA lost the rights to sell it. That's why it is no longer available on any digital storefronts.

that stinks i was hoping we would be able to get a remake of it but since it's fox it means that really Disney owns it. the only reason i was hopeful is games like spongebob get a flat out remake but not this

Both console Buffy the Vampire Slayer games were really fun. The combat was cool for the time and they did an excellent job capturing the feeling of the show. I'd expect another Buffy game in the coming years, especially if the sequel TV series is still in the works.
