"Thursday's Game" is a TV movie he made co-starring Bob Newhart. It's never been officially released, but bootlegs are easy to find and there's a copy on Youtube. It's not quite as good as you'd hope with the two of them, but it has some really funny scenes that are vintage examples of both of their styles. Seems like a good fit for Kino, hopefully they'll get it sooner or later.

![]() ![]() I would love to have this on Blu-ray (or DVD)! I used to see this a lot on Fritz The Nite Owl's show. |

A video of The Scarecrow (1973) is on it's Wikipedia page:
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/The_Sc...vision_Theatre) Also Thursday's Game (1974) & The Lady In Question (1999) are both on YouTube! Last edited by Spootnek; 06-17-2025 at 05:31 PM. |

Quackser Fortune is a good movie but the VCI disc is to be desired. It's very barebones with meh audio but it is in the proper aspect ratio. It's certainly better than the old DVD (which was abysmal), but that's not exactly a high bar.
Worth it if you can grab it on a sale for around ~$10 (like a Target BOGO sale), but not much else...and that comes from a huge GW fan. |

Start The Revolution Without Me (1970) must be the oldest DVD I own, it was the first one I imported from the US (in the Warner cardboard clipper case). Gene Wilder goes wildly over the top in this, but is still as funny as he's ever been, & interestingly, Donald Sutherland (who plays his twin brother!) is just as funny (he should have done a lot more comedies). The disc still works fine, I watched it only the other month. I suppose we have to wait & hope that it gets included in a Warner Archive batch...one day.
