Pretty sure that High Society release is a bootleg (and it's apparently a BD-R). A shame more of Grace Kelly's films aren't on Blu-ray.

At least a couple more of her films probably should be out by now, but she was only in eleven features. That she only has 4 released (5 if you count the bootleg) isn’t all that surprising.

Correct. She married the Prince of Monaco, and was pretty much forced out of necessity to quit acting.

She also did a lot of early television work in anthology dramas, around 40 episodes from 1948 - 1952.

Does anybody know if any of those are available on DVD?

I know they released a James Dean Collection not too long ago.



They need to do something like this for Grace Kelly.

I read of how Hitchcock originally wanted her for Marnie and apparently she was interested, offering even to give her salary to some Monaco welfare charity, but was refused permission.

I would love High Society on blu-ray. The only film of hers I don't have is Fourteen Hours.

Perhaps replace Dial M For Murder with the Warner Archive re-release since the WHV one is OOP?

And the Paramount Presents release for To Catch A Thief with the 2017 release since the Presents release is a hot DNR'd mess?

man, it is shocking how few avail on blu and one that is is either an older transfer with older colors or a new transfew with a mess of DNR and stuff and the foreign only blu-ray High Society was reviewed by one guy here and said to look like a messed up DVD upconvert so not sure that even counts

I was lucky enough to actually get to see one of these in the theater in 3D no less! A local chain theater was trying out special releases for a while and they put up Dial M in 3D projection the other year. Looked very good.

Surprised The Country Girl is still unavailable. I have a feeling Kino might put that out with their Paramount deal. I could also see it being a future Paramount Presents.

Imprint has released it over in AU but I could see it being a Presents title.
