Rumour: M-Two Working on Remake of ‘Resident Evil 4’
Quote:
A few weeks back, it was reported that Resident Evil 3 remake co-dev M-Two was in the process of working on another remake. Sadly, according to the report by VGC, it’s not Dino Crisis, but 2005’s Resident Evil 4. The apparent remake has been batted around M-Two since 2018, and now has an estimated release window in 2022.
According to the report, it’s also understood that the remake has the blessing of original game director, Shinji Mikami. Mikami declined to head the production, but has been available as a consultant.
RE4 has been ported numerous times since its original Gamecube release, but this is the first time that it’s being completely remake. And while the significance of the game in reinventing the series (for better and for worse) can’t be understated, does it really need to get the remake treatment over, say, Code: Veronica X? That is, if these rumours are to be believed. Source
