Wow, what a comparison!! Both are great shows, no doubt about it, but Buffy was a significantly lower budget network TV series while GOT is a more complex, higher budget HBO series.

GOT obviously has better writing, better acting and with the bigger budget, the production is top notch! However, I would not single out Buffy. Not as good, but still fun to watch. Plus, Sarah Michelle Gellar was simply stunning in the TV show.

I never watched a single episode of Game of Thrones. No interest. Buffy FTW.

Why would GoT have "obviously better writing" or acting? Buffy's pretty well know for some quality dialogue. The tone may be lighter at times, but it's well executed.

If you're into softcore porn and hardcore violence. GoT is the way to go.

I prefer BtVS.

I would think a better comparison would be BtVS and The Magicians.

One of the reasons why Buffy was such a great series, is because of all the things it did without having a big budget.

Buffys writing was way better. Once GoT got past the books, the writing was terrible.

I liked Game of Thrones, but it relied too much on world politics which I found boring most of the time. I preferred the fantasy aspects which seemed to get smaller as a whole as the show went on and more of a background element.

Buffy for me, all the time.. I think I might have a hard time deciding between Fringe and Buffy, but honestly, there's very few shows I wouldn't pick Buffy over.

Doesn't Buffy have a huge cult following? GOT ended in a whimper and nobody seems to really care anymore.

The first three seasons of Buffy have extremely high replay value.

I doubt I'd watch Game Of Thrones again. That said, I thoroughly enjoyed it.

Lol, didn't expect GoT to have so few votes.

Buffy for me as well.

Um, have you not watched the series? And is this seriously a debate? GOT has to be one of the best written, well crafted series I've ever seen in the history of TV shows. There's a reason why it was such a huge success on HBO.

Having said that, I never said Buffy was a bad show. The storyline can be a bit corny and cheesy at times, but that was part of the fun of watching it and why I liked it so much.

LOL I love Buffy but quality dialogue? The Scoobies and the Slayers use rather stunted dialogues, even the supposed prodigy Willow Rosenberg.

Nothing about that makes the dialogue worse quality. Buffy's dialogue is highly engaging and entertaining even when the characters are saying idiotic things.

Buffy, easily. I don't think GoT will age the same way at all.
