His Dark Materials is a brand new show completely ready in HD, outside of pressing the discs, no extra effort is required. Six Feet Under on the other hand is a 19 year old show and that most likely means extensive remastering is required. And considering Six Feet Under never got the popularity of The Sopranos or The Wire, it's probably not high on HBO's list.

The bear is a cardboard slip - with embossing to give it some depth. Under the slipcover, the actual cover is one of the usual posters (Lyra wearing overalls, other characters around her).

The digital code is via wb.com/redeemdigital and it gives you no choices about where to redeem it - it redeems in VUDU. If you try typing the code directly into iTunes it is rejected.

I'll probably end up importing the BBC release of Series Two from the UK when it comes out in (probably) early January, because of how absurdly long it took this to come out in the States, but I must say that the video presentation on the HBO release has been nothing short of stunning. I buy fewer films and television series physically, but this is one that I'm glad I got the disc for.

Well, I decided to take the plunge and order the first season from Amazon. The $16.99 price for the debut season was just too tempting to pass by. I enjoyed the movie that starred Daniel Craig and wanted to see a more faithful adaption to the original source material. Can't wait to finally sink my teeth into this series and see how good it really is. I've been staying far away from the series until I could binge watch it through home video.
