"Move Over Darling", "Caprice", and "Do Not Disturb" are available on Blu-ray via this German collection. It's Region A compatible. They are also available separately.

I don't get the point of the first post when most of those titles are on DVD only. I actually thought, while slowly scrolling down, hell they released all those on Bluray already, then I saw The Doris Day Show, which I know is not on Bluway, and in fact the DVD logo is on the box, and then seem to read that indeed most are DVDs. So what is the point, I mean, the title is clear but then the content of the first post could be written much better to at least show which are on Bluray and which only on DVD?

I'm also not clear on the point of this thread. You guys know you can do a database search on this site by actor, right? Go to the top search bar and highlight the "people" link, then do a search.

Like this: https://www.blu-ray.com/Doris-Day-I/101623/#Bluray

If your site preferences are set to "global" you'll see releases from every region.

Thanks, I'm sure everyone knows about that.

Why don't you go post on that page? Oh, that's right, YOU CAN'T!

This is a thread for fans to discuss Doris Day's movies that are on Blu-ray and the ones they want on Blu-ray.

I reorganized it so it's easier to understand.

Pajama Game is probably the title I'd most like to see released. What a fun musical that is.

Likewise! I've asked about it on the Warners Archive Facebook page and on their blu-ray/DVD site, and even sent them a letter. It's seldom mentioned when people are discussing Stanley Donen's career, but his background as a dancer and his experience directing at MGM made The Pajama Game's transition from stage to screen wildly successful. My favorite movie musical of the 1950s.

Thank you, I will have to check about that "global" option and all of its side-effects too.

I don't see Where Were You When the Lights Went Out. I think that was the last before she went to TV. I don't think it's even been on DVD.

Sorry, just saw it buried at the end. :-)

Kind of boring movie. Saw it 30 years ago on German TV but I still have the title music in my ear.

Me too.

I was watching the original trailer recently and noticed something I hadn't noticed before. It uses alternate footage that is more risque than what was included in the movie.

At the end of the movie, Doris holds up two fingers and sings "Two can sleep as cheap as one":
  • In the movie:

  • In the trailer (the scene is partially obscured by the title):
Then...
  • In the movie, she turns towards to John Raitt and they start dancing:

  • In the trailer, she lifts her pajama top and flashes her underwear:
I'm wondering if the scene ran afoul of the censors and had to be reshot like the bathtub scene in The Seven Year Itch. The original version of the bathtub scene is an extra on the DVD and blu-ray:

This would make two known deleted scenes from The Pajama Game. The other is Doris singing "The Man Who Invented Love" which was included as an extra on the DVD:

Where Were You When The Lights Went Out was on TNT quite frequently in Europe around the late 90s, I watched it once, and it wasn't really entertaining, but I think I would rather give this another go over a couple of other ones.
I also have it in my head that it was the last Day movie, but at the time I wasn't aware of the existance of The Ballad Of Josie and With Six You Get Eggroll and haven't checked since which one is the last released.

Bon voyage! Georgia Garrett’s singing career may not be going anywhere, but she is. She’s on a cruise, sailing under the name Mrs. Elvira Kent while the real Elvira secretly stays home to spy on her presumably philandering hubby. Meanwhile, the husband hires a spy to snoop on his supposedly voyaging wife. Doris Day makes her maiden film voyage, debuting as Georgia in a colorful bauble afloat on romantic seas. The studio surrounds the sunny overnight screen sensation with top talent: Michael Curtiz directs, the Epstein brothers provide the script, Busby Berkeley guides musical numbers, Jule Styne and Sammy Cahn create the tunes, and costars include Oscar Levant and Jack Carson. “It’s Magic,” Day sings. Yes, it is.

I believe there are some legal entanglements surrounding it that has prevented a release so far. It has shown up on TCM here in the States, but I’m not sure the last time it played. I don’t remember it being very good, but I would give it another chance and, regardless, it would be nice to have all of her films on disc.

I saw it in a theater when it debuted, and it was not a good movie. However, being the completist that I am, I have always wanted to own it and watch it again after fifty plus years.
