Got a weird situation, here.
I moved in November and got an 82” Samsung QN82Q70RAFXZA, but, only got my family room wired for 7.1 last week. I had not used the ARC feature on my 10 year-old 55” Samsung LED with my receiver before, so this was a new experience for me. After a lot of trial and error, it occurred to me that in order for ARC to work between the Onlyo TXR646 and the new TV, I have to have HDMI-CEC enabled on both. That works fine, with one major exception. If I have the PS4 plugged into the receiver, the receiver will not allow me to switch sources. No matter what I press, it will instantly go go back to the PS4 source on the receiver, regardless of whether the PS4 is “hard” powered off (not in standby). It would seem logical to me that the solution would be to turn off HDMI-CEC settings in the PS4, but I can’t seem to find them. Does anyone have any solutions for this? Also, is it possible to just plug the PS4 in to one of the other HDMI inputs on the TV and send the audio out from the ARC port to the receiver? Any suggestions are appreciated. |
