I hope this is legit. You started a wildfire! The word out is that it was an error. However some are saying they've talked to BB reps and they say its legit. The link now shows "coming soon". I'm not holding my breath whatsoever. I've yet to receive a cancellation email but then again its Sunday.

The link remained live for 9 hours! Let's say it was legit. There is no way BB has that many PS3s to fill 9 hours of preorders. Sony DOESN'T have that many!

PS3Land states that BB had a glitch in the system and all of the perorders will be cancelled, BB does not do preorders and here is the link. http://www.ps3land.com/article-951.php

They did preorders for the XBOX360. In fact, those that chose overnight shipping got the units ON launch day. Some actually got theirs the day before launch. I expect the same thing with the PS3: Ship on the 16th to arrive on the 17th.

I don't believe the PS3land article one bit. I'll wait to hear from BB directly. For every rep that says its a "glitch" there's an equal number of BB reps that say its legit.

If it was a glitch, explain to me why the system was being updated throughout the night? Example: No limit to how many orders initially, then all of a sudden, they had limits.

That and why would a "Glitch" have the expected arrival time of 11-17 to 11/24? If it was a glitch it shouldn't have arrival times. I'll wait for an Email.

I don't really buy into the glitch thing. Its bestbuy, not the Matrix. There is no way that this was an accident, but they may be trying to go back on it somehow. I sent an e-mail asking about my order and I got some generic automated response.

I replied to that asking for clarity and if I would get a refund, still waiting for a response. My order is still active and they definately charged my credit card the $$.

They didn't charge your credit card. They put a temporary "hold" on the funds to ensure you have said funds.

The only thing I can see them "going back on" is the fact that they allowed the link to stay live over 3 hours! They obviously can't fulfull that many especially with folks ordering multiple units. I'm sure some will get canceled and others will be honored. If you were late preordering, you'll probabaly get put in the "back order" group. If you ordered more than one, you'll probably get all but one canceled.

I just heard that BB will keep the orders that they got. The catch is that only the orders for single units will stay. The multi-orders will be refunded. So good news for the ppl buying one to keep. Bad news for the ebay jerks that are making the number of units even less for the rest of us.
