Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles (Live Action CBS All-Access Series)

We have exclusively learned that a new live-action Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles series is currently in development for the CBS All Access streaming service.

The series is set to adapt The Last Ronin, which is the upcoming Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles five-issue miniseries from IDW Publishing. The comic series is set to release later this year.

The synopsis of the comic is listed below:
In a future New York City far different from the one we know today, a lone surviving Turtle goes on a seemingly hopeless mission to obtain justice for his fallen family and friends.

The series is set to be the result of a massive collaboration between CBS, Paramount, Nickelodeon and other ViacomCBS-owned companies. While it is unclear how far along the project is, we have learned that a series order has not been given out yet. . -TheCinemaSpot

Oh wow. I hope it’s good. I’m glad it’ll be taken in a different direction given the amount of movies and cartoons based off the same origin story.

There's almost too much TMNT out there. Perhaps that's a good thing. But I'm way behind with all that's available. Probably the peak years for me were 1990-1991 with the video games, first two movies, animated series and action figures. I still have tons of episodes to watch from the first animated series and never got around to the later animated series' out there. And there are also a ton of comics as well. I never really got around to any of them and it'd be nice to at the very least check out the original run that started it all. It's kind of overwhelming to delve into the TMNT universe given the wealth of available content and the years of commitment it might take to watch the shows, read the comics, etc.

I hope that it's like the SONIC movie, or the TMNT (2014) where it's believable enough.

A TMNT series with CGI similar to FF7 Advent Children would be interesting too.

Given what the Henson company did with the recent The Dark Crystal TV series it would be great to have them do turtles in suits again.

Shame. Maybe Kevin is only saying since it's not official. But it's most likely not happening.
I'm sure everyone behind the scenes wants a new movie that meets fans expectations before they do something wildly different.
