The trailer was attached to Scream with a February release date.

Saw the poster at my theatre as well.

The Devil’s Light will now be released on Oct. 28 instead of Feb. 25. The movie is the only wide release to debut over Halloween weekend.

I saw the trailer before The Unbearable Weight of Massive Talent. Kind of weird that the person doing the exorcism is so young.

It'd be cool if that scene on the poster is actually in the movie.

The scene is in the trailer so it will probably appear in the film.

It was.

I was very disappointed in this. Wasn't expecting much, but it was base level in every sense. Plot twists are beyond obvious.

Pretty average.
The way its set up they could make a franchise based around the main character

There was a TV spot for this on Tubi when I was watching Terror Train that has this really goofy quirky voice-over that said something to the effect of: "Why are female exorcists better than male exorcists? Because in addition to kicking some demon butt, they also have to put up with toxic men!"

I couldn't tell if the tone was supposed to be comedic or if it takes itself seriously?

This is very much by the numbers but I still enjoyed it. It's left wide open for a sequel but there were only 4 other people in the theater on opening day. I first saw the trailer for this over a year ago under the original title.

The film is played as straight horror.

Watchable but forgettable, fast food horror. Everything is kinda rushed to just hit story points and not build it's world.

This was pretty bad. I didn't think the lead actress was very good and the other exorcisms referred to in the movie sounded more interesting than the one that actually happens. The setting for the finale was so cliché. There were only maybe two effective scares. I did like the
[Show spoiler]girl getting grabbed from above at the end.
I wish we had seen more of the exorcism classes.
