Old Article on Obsolete Players

I doubt you will be able to access the area where the posts are, so I'll post them, any help responding would be appreciated. Why cant these people just accept it.

Blueray has one MASSIVE down side.... its not a finished format, it is still developing and that means revisions to their players. Version 1 Blueray players will not play version 1.1 Blueray disks properly. HDDVD is now what it will be tomorrow and your 2007 player will play HD-DVDs for as long as they make them.

There is also the cost implication with making the disks, HD-DVD can be produced on standard DVD lines where as blueray is a totaly new format. If HD-DVD goes outof production expect to see a massive price rise in Blueray movies.

So you think the price will go down when they have no competition? The cost of a new plant to fab Blueray disks must be out of this world.
