Default WB to make catalogs time exclusives too.

http://www.highdefdigest.com/news/sh...og_Titles/1386

great news. now all hd dvd catalog titles get the delay too. blu-ray will have a 3 week timed exlcusive window.

This is very good news indeed.

Waiting an extra 3weeks for ALL future WB releases is another huge kick in the junk for HDDVD owners.

bonnie and clyde, twister, both great flicks if i was neutral right now i wouldn't be waiting an extra 3 weeks to see this flicks.

itll be intresting to see how they advertise. i think i will get a tingling sensation when i see a commercial from WB that says "availible on dvd and blu-ray hi def.

I thought it was kind of weird when they said it was only going to be new releases...maybe they just wanted to see what the reaction to their announcement would be before jumping in all the way.

I see that the entirely neutral HighDefDigest has not yet found space to cover the hardware sales news from NPD.

Oh, well. Maybe next week?

weird isn't it. they found time to review 3 hd dvd imports that maybe 31 people will actually import now that the wb news has hit, but no time to talk about the latest NPD hardware sales figures.

The timed releases are great since it essentially gives Blu-ray an advantage with weekly sales numbers. The dual format owners will pick up the Blu title since there is no other alternative on the release date and the HD-DVD release will probably just be forgotten abuot three weeks later.

clearly an indication that they will be returning to neutral or going full red.

don't you know it. all these cheap hd dvd players being sold are going to force studios to go neutral or red exclusive. im expecting that next weeks hardware numbers will have hd dvd with at least 15% of the market, HOW CAN WB SAY NO TO THAT?

That would be a 60% increase over last weeks numbers!
Pack it up, folks. Blu-ray is on it's last legs.

Yes, because you know the people that made the announcement about Warner going Blu-ray exclusive were not supposed to do that. And WB are supposed to reverse this in a couple weeks and fire the people who did this.

well this news has angered the hd-dvders who seem to think that the price cut is part of the master plan to turn the tide of war.....interesting post I found :

Quote:
warner is afraid of hd dvd ,they have to skew the numbers and can't have hd dvd buying to much stocks of any of there movies ...

i mean if twister pushed 100,000 disk , Time warner would have to explain there movie to share holders

Hd dvd user base isn't getting smaller it is growing and that means more people are buying hd dvds

so warner base has to discourage the neutral folks from buying hd dvd version and hope that they are impatient enough to buy the blu-ray version. The whole delay move is just to make all hd dvd owner defect to blu-ray or that is what they hope.
