The latest film from Costa-Gavras was released by Wild Side Video earlier this year.
I only found out about it's release a couple of weeks ago and being an English friendly disc decided to order it. Watched it last night and was really impressed. I know the quality of Costa-Gavras' films post Missing (1982) range from impressive (Amen, The Ax) to downright awful (Mad City) but I personally put this in the former. Maybe because the subject matter was so fresh to me: set in 2015 dealing with the Greeks Government's negotiation of debt with the EU. The main feature has English subtitles as does the 'making of' special feature. Other special features do not have English subtitles. The film is spoken in English, Greek, French and German. English subtitles only appear with non-English dialogue. Anyway, really happy to have this disc and it doesn't look like it is going to get much international exposure. If anybody wants me to check if the disc is Region A friendly please just respond to this post. |
