France Transporter 2 Uncensored French BD Region Free

I just watched the French release of Transporter 2 (Le Transporteur 2), my second blu-ray double dip as I wanted to have it in its full uncensored glory.

The US version was edited for violence (the scene where Frank fights with an iron bar, digital removal of blood) and sexuality (shots of Kate Nauta's naked butt, digital retouching of shots where you could see her nipples) to secure a more commercial PG-13 rating. This version is ca. 25 seconds shorter.

The French uncensored BD includes all violence and sexuality. Additionally some of the really bad CGI effects shots were completely revamped. The French BD has excellent image quality. It has English and French dts HD MA audio tracks and it is region free.

If you like this movie, this is the version to be watched!

Nice! I have the US version and I never knew there was a unrated version. Oh well I guess I can live with that lol.

I never knew about an uncensored version of this film either. It doesn't sound a heck of a lot different, but I still prefer the uncensored version when the only reason the cuts were made was to secure a friendlier rating (ALA Die Hard 4)

If they ever release it in the US, I'll may pick it. Already have the regular US version though.

Funny, I'd ordered both French Transporter BDs a couple of days ago and now this thread shows up!! I'm glad you're pleased with the disc, I can't wait to get them as I had both uncensored movies on DVD and I wasn't paying Fox for their crap discs. I'm assuming that all subtitles for the movie are removable? Thanks.

Was the first one edited in the US? Was curious if the French version of Transporter 1 was region free and uncut.

Some of the fights were edited down for the U.S. release. I used to have the Japanese DVD and that followed the French version right down to the French title at the start of the movie.

I got mine from amazon.fr. The other major French retailer I know of is fnac.com.

Yes, the French subtitles are optional, you can watch the movie without subtitles.

Question

The U.S and U.K versions of Transporter 1 & 2 got lackluster reviews for PQ.
They are MPEG-2 encoded @18 Mbps.

I decided to order the French version but some buyers mentioned that the PQ was not a big upgrade from SD DVD.

After hearing the news that Sony will release Transporter Twin pack featuring MPEG-4 AVC encode and DTHD with Eng/Jap subtitles in Japan on Feb-22 I went ahead and placed the pre-order with amazon.co.jp.

No English subs = NO BUY. I will wait for the Japanese release by SONY.

The French version seems to be REGION FREE as per the OP.

I am not sure if the Japanese version will be UNCUT.

You can order the Japanese version from either amazon.co.jp or hmv.co.jp.
Even Unleashed (Danny the Dog) and Almost Famous D.C is getting released on Feb-22 and Mar-05 respectively.

Can someone check and let me know if the French version is MPEG-4 encoded and has English subtitles ?
Also please let me know if they are REGION LOCKED ?
I don't see EuropaCorp releasing shoddy discs TBH, their Ultimate Editions were top notch.

I watched it on an American Panasonic Player which enforces regional coding so I can say with absolute certainty that it is region free. Or to be more precise: The disc will play on a region A player.
