Solid State external HDD?

I've been considering the idea of having a dedicated media server at some point. Due to certain health issues, I'm prone to dropping things a lot, which really isn;t good for HDD's of course, and I'm trying to find a better (and hopefully affordable) alternative. The ps3 is so practical for playing digital videos though, and I've been thinking that a media server somewhere might be a better overall idea. But I'd prefer to have a SSHDD if possible as they're apparently a lot more reliable. But would the ps3 read from it?
