In the "Video Resolution" field, please add the option "480p" for DVDs.
The current options are "480i" and "576i". There seems to be a lot of myth and incorrect information surrounding this that folks have accepted as fact over the years. If you have a progressive source that was encoded progressive correctly, or a progressive source that was encoded interlaced correctly, the difference is very obvious when the DVD video stream is viewed natively without any filters, or without any playback hardware getting in the way. Below are examples from the Robin Hood Gold Collection DVD, including the actual technical details of the video streams. The interlaced example is the "Ye Olden Days" cartoon that's included on the disc as a bonus feature. Please view the image at full size to see the interlacing properly. ![]() As I start going through my DVD collection, it would be great to have this option added so that I can submit all the corrections in the database. |
