Default Children of a Lesser God - 1987 William Hurt

I see Shock are releasing this for the first time in HD, however I suspect it is going to be a bare bones and "old" master/transfer used for the release. I don't think it has been released anywhere else on blu, so that is why I think the release is going to be predicatble disappointment.

Because Shock doesn't have the best track record - Ordinary People being a case in point. Until somebody actually reports on the disc we won't know.

Question

Does anyone have more specific details (picture quality, special features, subtitles) regarding this release by now?

Thanks! I hadn't noticed those. Shame they didn't put more effort into this release.

I hope this gets a US release soon. Fortunately, Paramount has been putting out a lot of their catalogue titles, so there's hope.

I mean it actually has very nice picture quality, it blows the HD digital copies out of the water, judging from screencaps. Probably a 4/5 on PQ, a nice level of grain to the PQ, unlike the digital HD copies which appear heavily DNR'd. Hasn't been scrubbed. However, the audio on the AUS disc is dolby digital. Spain just released the blu-ray, but with DTS-HD Master Audio. That's the disc to buy.

Australian release is a safe bet. I don't think I'd trust the spanish one.
