I know they're a pretty prominent seller on Amazon and Ebay, but has anyone ever bought from their actual site before? If so, what was the experience like? Are their items packaged well? Is their customer service any good when it comes to refunds/exchanges? etc.
I'm keen to purchase a copy of the Friday Night Lights boxset, and they seem to have the cheapest price online, but I'm always a little wary of buying from unfamiliar site. Last edited by BigNickUK; 02-17-2021 at 11:33 AM. |

Most of my purchases outside eBay are from rarewaves.com, they use well padded jiffy bags and I've had no issues other than having to wait a few weeks for things to arrive. Make sure you use the 10% off code!

I've never bought from their own site directly because they don't seem to have that many blus on there compared with their eBay and Amazon stores, but I've been buying from their eBay store for years and never had a problem. In fact they're probably the place I've bought most new region A discs from. Packaging has always been padded envelopes or card mailers, but then I've never bought a box set from them. I've never had any cause to contact their customer services either, so can't comment on that I'm afraid.

I bought the Nuri Bilge Ceylan collection from them as my first order - great value at around £30 - but it came in a big jiffy bag. Amazingly this fragile set suffered no damage but potential box set buyers be aware!
Have bought a few things from them since and, as others have said, their service is good, prices are great but delivery slow (ten days typically). |

They're mostly great, just expect packages to take 2 or 3 weeks, even though posted in the UK and UK retail discs. The ebay rarewaves seller for US stuff can take even longer.
On a sidenote, I notice recently that all the cheap Danish BDs have all sold out now on their main website. |

I use them all the time to buy vinyl and haven't had an issue yet. As others have said you just have to wait a while for packages to arrive. Try and make the most of their 10% signup discount too. You can use it will multiple emails etc...

No issues with Rarewaves. Solid online retailer.

No. But I've ordered from them a lot and only ever had one package that was "lost," which they re-sent with no issue. The original package ended up arriving a couple of weeks later, so it was a mail issue, not something they did.

I'm interested in buying an item that Rarewaves only appear to be selling from their eBay store.
However, it's over £20 and Rarewaves warns... "International postGe of items may be subject to customs processing and additional charges." I thought that Import Duty was now paid by the seller, so can anyone explain what any addiontal charge to me is likely to be? Desk |

I'm a Canadian collector who's bought from Rarewaves and other UK-based dealers and typically receive shipments in about 2-3 weeks. Rarewaves said they shipped my last purchase on January 5th but it hasn't shown up. When I inquired they said the Royal Mail strike was causing delays and said to give it a while longer.
From what I've read in the UK news the strike action isn't continuous and it sounds like they're working to rule. So I have to wonder how much stock I can put in Rarewaves' answer. Has anyone else experienced transit times of more than six weeks for shipments coming across the Atlantic since the strike started? |
