HELP. Game won't start! - Blu-ray Forum

Hi, I just bought a PS3 and have been watching movies without a problem. Today I bought COD4 and after inserting the diss, the "Playstation 3" screen appears, then the COD4 logo, then it goes black and nothing else.

I have to turn it off and on again so I can see the desktop. Just ejecting the disc won't work.

I have a 1080i CRT TV with 1 component connection.

I wold greatly appreciate any advice.

Do you have the latest firmware?

I have 2.00 but it doesn't ask me to update it.

Mine did that the first time I tried to play COD4. I turned off the PS3 in the back then back on. It worked fine after that.

If that doesn't work try unplugging it from the wall for about 2 minutes, and plugging it back in, then see if the game will load.

That sucks! Its such an awesome game. Make sure you dont have any smudges of scratches on the disk. Mainly look for smudges.

Solved it. I reset to factory setting and reapplied the TV resolutions.

I might have added a conflicting resolution to the list of supported resolutions. Probably 720p.
