Henry Cavill Rumoured To Be Returning For The Man From UNCLE 2

It’s being rumoured that Henry Cavill is currently in talks to return for The Man From UNCLE 2, which is great news if it’s true.

The reason I say “if it’s true” is because this rumour comes from Daniel Richtman, who’s been a bit hit and miss recently with his scoops.

He also recently ‘revealed’ that the film’s producers were thinking of recasting Armie Hammer from the sequel.

Please, bear in mind that this sequel to The Man From UNCLE hasn’t even been officially revealed to being in production yet.

Kinda had to double take at that headline.

I mean even had the first film been a hit, we’re well passed major audiences caring by this point, let alone the almost absurdly bad timing of even floating around the idea of the cast returning. Even with Hammer recast, this is an insanely ill-advised investment if it moves ahead.

The first was great fun and I really wanted a sequel but that was back when I also loved Armie Hammer. Now I don't even care about a sequel.

I dug the film but pretty much echo Foggy’s take; it’s too little, too late. I’d rather put the money into a The Nice Guys sequel being made.

I would much rather see a Nice Guys sequel too.

Man From UNCLE was sort of enjoyable I guess, I barely remember anything about it. And it's not because it's been 5+ years, I barely remembered anything about it a week after I saw it, it just felt so empty to me.

I share everyone's skepticism, but this seems like the kind of financially low-risk idea that might work for HBO Max. Wouldn't even surprise me if the "sequel" got re-worked into a resurrection of the TV show for streaming.
