Default Batman: The Long Halloween (2021)

[Show spoiler]

Comic Book Art

Quote:
Inspired by the iconic mid-1990s DC story from Jeph Loeb and Tim Sale, Batman: The Long Halloween, Part One begins as a brutal murder on Halloween prompts Gotham’s young vigilante, the Batman, to form a pact with the city’s only two uncorrupt lawmen (Police Captain James Gordan and District Attorney Harvey Dent) in order to take down The Roman, head of the notorious and powerful Falcone Crime Family. But when more deaths occur on Thanksgiving and Christmas, it becomes clear that, instead of ordinary gang violence, they’re also dealing with a serial killer - the identity of whom, with each conflicting clue, grows harder to discern. Few cases have ever tested the wits of the World’s Greatest Detective like the mystery behind the Holiday Killer.

I wonder if both parts will be combined together in a separate release like the recent Superman one.

They did something similar with The Dark Knight Returns too.

If the two parts are combined, would it be rated R?

This link here perfectly outlines my concerns for this movie. Don't get me wrong, Man of Tomorrow and Soul of the Dragon are vast improvements over the New 52 Movie Universe, and I have hopes for Justice Society: World War 2, but still, there's still some part of me that worries we'll get another Batman: Hush or Killing Joke situation.

Aww, I was hoping Catwoman would be wearing her purple costume with the tail. Oh well, as long as the movie sticks to the original story, I guess I'll be happy.

Releasing June 22, per superherohype.

No mention of a 4K release. Hopefully that’s an error or they’re waiting for a complete release in early 2022.

Huh. No wonder the trailer was released so early.

I still want to check this out but I wish they had stuck to the art style of the comic book.

Crap. I'm too impatient. Plus, what if the combined cut doesn't have any new special features, or if it does, what if its for the 4K release only?

Well, Under the Red Hood, Superman vs the Elite and Gotham by Gaslight didn't use the original comic art styles and they still turned out pretty great to me. Plus, there is a chance this movie might take place in a new shared universe.

The DC animated movies have some really fancy cover artwork, almost to the point where you're a bit disappointed when you actually pop the movie in and see the actual animation, but here that Joker photobomb just ruins it.

And regarding the 4K, I wouldn't be surprised if they'll hold on to releasing it in 4K after both parts are out.

I'm betting that the cover to part two will be reversed, with the left side of another villain's face to compliment the Joker's.

Anyone else noticed how far the Joker's pants are hiked up? Kinda makes him look like Steve Urkel. LOL

Already, there's a trailer for Part 2! What does DC and WB think they're doing!?
