Default So sharp's blu-ray player or panasonic's new 1.1 player?

Alright guys/gals I am asking for some advise here. I am looking to purchase another stand alone player. right now i have the samsung 1400 but i am planning on moving that one to my bedroom and need a new one in the living room. My choices are between sharp's and panasonic's 1.1

The only thing pushing me towards the sharp one is the supposed 10 second load up. Is this really true? does every disc load up in less than 10 seconds? the other thing is does both of these bitstream ALL hd audio across hdmi? I have an onkyo 805s that i use to do my decoding.

Any advise would be appreciated!!!

It's been well documented that the 10 second load time for the Sharp player was measured for a resumed disc only. It takes about 40 seconds to a minute for newly inserted discs to start playing.

Anyway, since both have same retail price this one is not even a fair comparison. Panasonic wins hands down.

If the Sharp isn't 1.1, I would go with the 1.1 Panasonic.

The current models of Panny 10 and 30 both have a LPCM -5db bug on the LFE channel. Unless you don't care about it (most ppl don't even know about it) then go for it, otherwise, wait for the new model 50 and see if it has the same bug as the older models. According to Roger of Dolby Labs, the bug maybe difficult to fix in firmware due to certain design decisions made for those older models.

Yeah, I love how guys are saying on AVS theyll take it back. Like theyd have better luck with the Samsung

Instead of getting on a forum and threatening to drive back to the store, I just get my lazy butt up, walk 10 feet to my sub and turn the little knob thingy on the back until its loud enough for me

Personally I prefer the Panasonic but I have heard the Sharp is an excellent player.
