Default The Medium (PS5)

Officially rated by ESRB for PS5 now. Anyone getting this?

I was going to play this once I get a Series X, but apparently it's not good?

Played this on the XSX through Game Pass. Ok game with zero replay value. I personally wouldn’t buy it and would wait for this to come to PS Plus as a freebie (perfect candidate; might take a while though, but this is in no way a must have game).

Interesting. I’m playing it at the moment on Series S. It’s very good.

It's a horror walking simulator. I don't think the consensus is that it's a "bad" game but if you were thinking it was the second coming of Silent Hill, I think you would be disappointed.

Looked horrible to me to the point that even if I had a Series X when it came out I would have avoided it and that would have been on the system I wouldn't be using for multiconsole games and basically just using to play Forza Horizon 4 enhanced. So on PS5 it is even more lost in the library of games I could be playing instead which means I don't see a future where I care about it. At most if it ended up on PS+ or on sale for like $4.99 or less I might give it a chance during a slow month.

It takes inspiration from SH, but most of it is just the camera angles. Everything else is so different and unique. The split screen between the real world and the spirit world is very cool.

Thanks for the details.

Is the camera view detached and distant most of the times from the player? That's the one thing I wasn't a fan of when I first saw the gameplay for this on XBox. The puzzle element to it is interesting though. Reminds me of Soul Reaver's different realms.

Yes, most angles are fixed while others are detached and distant. Only when you're in a hallway or something similar it follows you from behind.

Okay, thanks. That's good they at least let the camera attach behind at some points in the game. I like that closer up view most times, or medium view. More immersive versus watching from farther back.

But glad you're enjoying the game. I'll have to watch more gameplay to see if it has a good horror style to it.

Played this on the series X & really liked it. Great atmosphere, interesting story, the only sight issue I had with it is the ending but other then that I throughly enjoyed it. It’s good that it’s coming to PS5 so more people have a chance to play it.

Finished it a couple days ago and enjoyed it. I’d rate it a 7.5/10, ending was a bit weak.

Personally wouldn’t buy it, but glad to have given it a chance.

Played on Series X. I'll be happy to wait until this is a low price or maybe free on + to replay and get a easy plat.

Of course. Despite what MS and the fanboys say, the power difference between the two consoles is completely negligible.

Do you think it's worth a purchase? I want to support survival horror, but I think $50 is steep for a game that launched on game pass months ago

$50 I think is a little steep for this. I don't think you would be disappointed in the game but content wise I don't think it's $50 length.

I think it is but I also really enjoyed it. I played it through game pass & have the XSX version pre ordered since I want it for my collection.
