Default Gaming Audio - DD + DSU/Neural:X

I"m probably a minority when it comes to PC gaming audio, but I love to game in multi-channel audio. I picked up a Asus XONAR U3 Dolby Digital Live USB sound card years ago and have been enjoying DD 5.1 upmixed to 9.2 in my mancave for some time now.

But things have gotten even more exciting since upgrading my mancave to 5.4.2 Atmos/DTS:X a couple of years ago. Maybe the past year or so, I'd been using the latest Dolby Surround format, which has been stellar with overhead effects in games. However, I never really considered trying DTS Neural:X, which I just did the other day, and the effect is even more stunning.

I'm not going to pretend I'm an expert on this subject, and outside of a basic understanding, I don't really know what either are doing at a technical level. But what matters to me is how immersive gaming is with either format. I'm currently playing Control, and the
[Show spoiler]echoing sounds throughout the large rooms with high/cathedral ceilings and bad guys attacking from overhead
really immerses me into the game. Everything from destruction overhead to ambient sounds just seems so real, or at least as real as I could imagine them to be.

I've been into HT for a long time, and this is perhaps the most enveloping experience I've had to date.
