Awesome that we can get that long-coveted Crash commentary. Now if only I could find the Criterion Bad Day at Black Rock one.

Sucks to see Sony keep passing on a release of Spider. So I hope Shout has made an offer to release it themselves.
I also hope eXistenZ gets a new release. Maybe it'll be part of a new wave of all those Mirimax releases that have been getting even newer releases.
And I'm fingers crossed that Warner gives M. Butterfly a release.

I definitely would like to see all of them. I have held off on the 101 Films eXistenZ (which is region free btw) in case a new release comes, but I doubt we'll see it get a remaster if Scream and From Dusk Till Dawn are just now getting actual new releases, rather than represses.

It's on the Criterion Channel right now with the LD commentary, if you have or know someone with a subscription.

There's also this UK release of his early shorts:

cronenberg.jpg

"Stereo" and "Crimes of the Future" were on the US "Fast Company" Blu-ray, but "Transfer" and "From the Drain" I believe are exclusive to this release.

The German Turbine release of ExistenZ is better encoded than the 101 films release and it also has the correct gamma. It's region A compatible according to user submitted data. See dvdcompare for the extras.

Scanners and The Brood are getting new Blu-ray releases in Japan next month from the label Zeque. Zeque is claiming that they're using restorations from 2019 2K scans of the original negative.

Scanners: https://www.amazon.co.jp/dp/B08Z55FQTC/
The Brood: https://www.amazon.co.jp/dp/B08Z51CG6R/

Thanks for the info! I updated eXistenZ. When the Zeque releases come out I'll see what the general consensus here seems to be and I will update accordingly!

The US version of "History of Violence" is cut for the R-rating.

"Maps to the Stars" is also worth importing for the extras.

Last Night and the short film Blue, both directed by the great Don McKelkar, who is appearing in the new film Cronenberg is directing in Greece, really need HD releases

Might just want to replace the Shout release with the Fox or the Via Vision since they all use the same master:

Changed to the Fox release. Minor oversight, as I thought I had put that one on here.

Is the UK (or any other) release uncut?
