Default New Receiver & Speakers - Your thoughts

I've been doing some product research and face-to-face listening. I've about decided on the following receiver/speaker combination. The total price is right at $6500 out the door.

However, I'd like to get some feedback and see if anyone has any additional equipment that I should take a look at before purchasing.

Thanks!

Receiver:
- Denon AVR-3808CI with ASD-3W wireless iPod/Networking dock

Speakers (7.1):
- Fronts x2: Mirage OMD-15
- Center: Mirage OMD-C1
- Surrounds x4: Mirage OMD-5
- Sub: Definitive Techology Supercube1

The Rocket line is favored by most who own their products, but they have many different lines for different budgets/tastes. Their CS is hands down one of the best (if not the best) in the industry.

dude .... def techs.

all .... the .... way.

mythos actually considering what youre looking at with the mirage line.

i have the same receiver, denon 3808, running def. tech. mythos ones for main l/r, mythos 8 for center, mythos twos for surrounds, mythos gems for surround backs and a martin logan abyss sub.

i've been putting this together for a long time, upgrading, returning, exchanging, the whole bit. i would usually sit down, watch a movie, get up and look all over the internet or go to stores to look at other items i could upgrade to in my system.

however now days, i get up, and im in a slight daze as to what i should do because im overly pleased with the entire setup.

now i dont know how sold you are in trying to get everything at a store like best buy, but if you're willing to get some items online, you'd greatly reduce your bottom line number.

my whole system, retail, is as follows:

denon3808 - 1,600$
mythos ones - 1,800$ /pr
mythos twos - 1,000$ /pr
mythos eight - 700$
mythos gems - 500$/pr
abyss sub - 1,000$ (they must have raised the price, i only paid 900$ )

that comes up to 6,600$ before tax.

now, there are a lot of variances in a mythos system that you can explore if you're looking to lower the price. another way to lower the price would be get this stuff online. you can find most all of this stuff online for A LOT cheaper than retail.

but tell ya what, thats just my strongly held opinion on mythos speakers. i think they're phenomenal. if you give them a listen and like what you're hearing, pm me and i can help put together a killer system for you and help find awesome prices for you too.

but yes, long story short, pair that denon up a mythos system and you wont be sorry.

Whatever you decide to get for speakers, GET A SUPERCUBE!! I had previously owned one and it was incredible! I don't have it now cuz I needed some cash and had to sell it. I would also recommend any DefTechs to go along with it as well. From what I hear, the Mirage speakers are all very good, but I've owned DefTechs and can say that you really can't go wrong with them.

I didn't quote the rest, but it's gospel.

These are excellent speakers. I have the Mythos ST Supertowers, the Mythos Ones, and the Mythos Eight for center channel. Spectacular is an understatement.
