A Disney catalog title with no obvious tie-in? Wild.

While I would say it might be more of an outside possibility as they likely don't already have 4K masters, there are a lot of Touchstone titles that could be nice to see in 4K. Looking at Letterboxd, there are several notable titles like Dead Poets Society, 10 Things I Hate About You, The Nightmare Before Christmas, O Brother Where Art Thou, Pretty Woman, Signs, Ed Wood, The Village, High Fidelity, Armageddon, Con Air, Good Morning Vietnam, 25th Hour, War Horse, The Insider, Sister Act, The Color of Money, Crimson Tide, Enemy of the State, Dick Tracy, Fright Night, Shanghai Noon, Father of the Bride, What About Bob?, Splash, Dan in Real Life, The Count of Monte Cristo, Adventures in Baby, Cocktail, Turner & Hooch, Ransom, Three Men and a Baby, Open Range, Hidalgo, Beaches, Alive, Ruthless People, The Horse Whisperer, Beloved, Oscar, Mission to Mars.

I think some of the deeper cuts or comedies might be more unlikely, but could you imagine a Tony Scott boxset? I think some of the action oriented titles would make a lot of sense, and especially The Nightmare Before Christmas though it's been rebranded as mainline Disney

Technically through coproductions we already have a few Touchstone 4Ks: Starship Troopers, Air Force One, The Prestige

George Lucas' Strange Magic was a 2015 release and it never even had a Blu-ray release, let alone 4K UHD.
Then again, it is a film better left forgotten.

In all seriousness, though, Disney should re-release The Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy in 4K, really underrated film.

As for Touchstone films that have a high chance of getting 4K UHD re-releases, I would say The Wind Rises and Tales from Earthsea (released under Touchstone theatrically, but under Disney on home video) but Disney only has the rights to these films in Japan, and GKIDS has the rights to them in North America.

Day 1. Looks like SB7080 was right about these two being under consideration.

It's been available in 4k on iTunes for many months now. Figured it would translate to a physical release at some point.

God damn, first Addams Family and now this. They seem to announce this UHD releases after I've bought the Blu-ray, but before it has arrived in the mail.

Watched the 4K on DisneyPlus when it first launched, it's a bit rough given the large amount of opticals, but still excellent.

Scenes of just animation are superb and just live action look great as well.

I was checking out the 4K Dolby Vision stream on Disney+ last night and didn't find the myriad opticals to be "rough", which is likely down to the fact that I believe they were all shot and composited in 8-perf VistaVision before being reduction printed to 4-perf 35mm to intercut with the original camera negative footage.
