A nice idea for a thread in this sub-forum, as I haven't seen anything to do with film serials.

I know it was a film series, but was it classed as a film serial, the Whistler films? They were released in North America (I think) as manufactured-on-demand DVDs.

I'm glad The Shadow film series has been included. I came across those a few weeks ago, while (I think) checking out another film series (which might have been the Whistler films, or another series of films (which I was going to mention), the Spider film series).

Can only find two Spider films, both starring Warren Hull. But I'm not sure if they've had physical media releases.

Have got the Flicker Alley release of The House of Mystery. Hoping the UK gets a physical media release of Fantomas.

I stand corrected, as I hadn't heard of any UK physical media release. Thanks for your help.

On a side note, should I include the 2005 Image DVD of Les Vampires?

Know it already got a Blu-Ray release, however this does have an alternative score not on said Blu-Ray.

If it doesn't supplements or materials or footage, list it.

1937 version
1945 remake wrong cover art posted

Mikezilla, if you check my American Westerns thread you'll find
several western serials in post #10 that belong here.

Added most including some from the western films.

BTW, I saw that most of those Tarzan films were just films and not serials?

The serials were cut down into feature-length films and released that way, too.
The Flash Gordon and Buck Rogers serials, as well.

I'm guess the serials in their original form aren't in the database?

Here is a serial not mentioned: Jungle Girl. My mother-in-law recalled watching this when she was younger. She had the name wrong, but after some research, I found a copy on Amazon for her to enjoy (who knew it existed, lol).

There are also some DVDs of Burn ‘Em Up Barnes (1934) by Alpha Video and by Sinister Cinema in the database. Though I don’t know which looks better

Added both to the OP, with the Alpha release for Barnes since Sinister was either a feature version or in a collection with other films.

On an aside, should I also include a section for Feature versions of serials?

There is also the French 1921 serial of The Three Musketeers

https://www.blu-ray.com/dvd/Les-Troi...es-DVD/275857/

Not to be confused with the 1921 Douglas Fairbanks film of the same name

Great thread with several nice titles.

Here are two two releases of Overland Mail you may want to include:

I once owned the Alpha DVD.
