It was released in France in August. I received my copy this week. Picture quality is pretty good.

"Rarely seen" but there are several PAL dvd releases. Wish this was a domestic release. Hope it's a good transfer, as the only real extra is a commentary which isn't that much of a selling point.

Has anyone got a copy of this and viewed it? Expensive so it would be good to know what the transfer is like! Thanks

I received it today and it looks pretty good. I can't say much more as I'm no expert. The slipcase looks great and the artwork on the actual insert is different (not as good). I recommend it, especially as there is only a French release otherwise.
I'm not sure if I got that one, there's a DVD, and a BD+DVD combo by Elephant and I hear they're usually good and no forced subtitles.

Confusing post. This thread is for the IMPRINT release. Surely you know if you bought that or the earlier Elephant release, and which you are commenting about.

The explosive-media.com website description says "on Blu-Ray and DVD from a brand new HD Master." But who knows. It's Region B so I won't be finding out.

I bought this IMPRINT release of HOUSE OF CARDS (1968) very recently.

This was one of several Universal Pictures films starring George Peppard that weren't seen much for decades, but in recent years they've all re-surfaced on homevideo via digital disc.
