Default I just watched NEKromantik for the first time and.....

.... I....er...im......not sure.....but......maybe.......what.......

help me understand what I just watched.

I am currently on a massive 70s and 80s sci fi and horror binge taking in as many obscure and B-movies as I can. Last night I queued up Nekromantik, another movie I have never seen. I am not squeamish or easily shockable. I rolled my eyes a lot at A Serbian Film, shrugged at Cannibal Holocaust (except the animal bits) and got bored of Pink Flamingos. This genuinely grossed me out though. I dont even know if was awful or not, it just was. You hear a lot about crap like Human Centipede and the likes but they are nothing compared to this. I have Nekromantik 2 on my list as well but I may skip that one

If it helps, the brains in the movie were actually scrambled eggs.

I liked part 2 also, but I have to say, I love Pink Flamingos. LOL. There's a documentary about these films which is pretty interesting that covers these two films and Jorg Buttgeriet's other movies.

United Kingdom Cinema screening

While checking the Coming Soon section on Odeon's website yesterday, I saw that a new addition had been added, a screening of Nekromantik. The release date stated on the Odeon website listing page is Tuesday 14th February, 2023.

Like with the screening in Odeon cinemas late last year of the original Black Christmas and the Silent Night, Deadly Night/Christmas Evil double feature, the screening of Nekromantik is co-presented by Odeon and DMP Cinema. Have checked the list of Odeon cinemas showing it, and it's in selected Odeon cinemas.

I saw Nekromantik on the big screen in 2021 (as part of a horror marathon also hosted by David of DMP Cinema) and the audience reactions to certain scenes were hysterical. Glad to see he's pushing for more and more cult horror films to be screened in UK cinemas. I've spoke to him a few times and he seems like a cool dude.
