Default Justin Timberlake bd release

Just picked up this release and noticed my tv(52w3000) display says 1080I not P
this is the second concert disc that says this, the destiny's child disc plays back also.
Is it me or these discs aren't actually full hd?
Is anyone else seeing this?

Thanks

Too bad about the 1080i. 1080p would have been the clincher for me on a Justin Timberlake BD.

Most, if not all show are in 60i (akak 1080i). The number of shows actually digitally filmed at 24fps is extremely rare..

if you're tv do 60hz and convert the signal, you shouldn't be able to differentiate 1080i converted to 1080p.

The only way to get the true 1080p signal on BluRay is to have 1080p and use 24hz. Other wise the the 24fps is redone in 60hz at 1080p by the player..

NIN: BYIT BD does this too, but it is just as clear and beautiful as a 1080p.

Most video content - anything shot digitally, no film - is recorded at 1080i60. I believe that "The Company" was one of the first TV programs shot in 1080p24, though I could be wrong. But that was an expensive miniseries, so it would have made sense to do it that way.

Regardless, there is nothing wrong with it being 1080i, because that is the same as the source footage. Its when you have a 1080p source and you watch it at 1080i that you aren't getting the full experience.

Honestly for the people that are on the fence about purchasing this, the PQ is fine and even better than a lot of the so called 1080p BD's you've watched before. The only time it gets bad is when they are showing footage beneath the stage between songs which is not that often.

the best buy I go to is all sold out of this, I had the same issue also my DC blu ray said 1080i. But its alright. Audio is good, I bought the DVD version of the JT concert and thought it was good, though the dancer layout and junk looked a little messy. I'll buy this in a heartbeat once I find it.

To me, it's not so much as 1080i being the problem as 30p. I would have expected JT's concert to be recorded at 24p for that cinematic look; his concert would fit it very well. On the other note, the PQ is very clear as crystal. The only time it isn't clear is when they're understage, but those a brief moments.

AQ is great as well, but I do not like the soundscape. The separation of voice from outside noise and instruments aren't as clear as it should be, and fan screams are heard throughout a lot of the songs.

Oh man, this BD is the only reason I chose Blu.
I am going to return my equipment back to the store and petition to get the complete Judge Judy collection released on HD-DVD which would surely lead to the death of Blu.

This is still a very good looking disc. It look a lot better than the HBO HD version that I saw a few months ago.

Sounds like the Celine Dejan concert is more your style.

I'm in the middle of watching this right now. My TV is displaying 1080i, but it looks just as clear as any 1080p BDs I've seen, if not better. This is one of those BDs that was probably filmed with HD equipment (like NIN:BYIT). You can see a huge difference in clarity between something shot with HD equipment (like the Discovery Channel HD Theater) and movies that are converted to 1080p. Audio is amazing, like you are actually there. Picture is as good, but not better, than NIN:BYIT. Almost as good as the Dave Matthews BD I picked up the other day. This one is worth a buy if you like Timberlake. Puts on one hell of a show.

Absolutely not. First of all his album title should explain the nature and content of some of his songs. He does cuss on more than one occasion during the concert....the "F" word if you're curious. He does drink during the concert...looks like a shot of patron. Maybe OK for late teenagers but definitely not the younger kids.

Thanks for info. Glad I checked before just rolling the dice.
