Default JB Hi-Fi Black Friday sale

Didn't see anyone talking about this sale. JB Hi-Fi is an Australian distributer of companies like Umbrella and Imprint. I believe most, if not all, of their releases are region free (I would double check before ordering, tho).

Normally, I don't get Umbrella/Imprint releases because they are typically very high priced, and when you add shipping costs it just never seemed worth it to me.

However, with the current sale that is going on, I am more than pleased with what I got.

With shipping, all 4 titles cost me $62 USD! That is about $15.50 per movie! Better, two of these are double-features, which mean I got 6 films for $62!

I already bought Imprint's Days of Heaven (HIGHLY recommended. stacked supplements and director approved transfer) and Silver Scream Cinema (One of my favorite box sets ever and one of the few sets I went through and enjoyed every single supplement) - Another high recommendation.

They also have their high-priced Film Noir sets on sale. Still pricey but definitely more reasonable than when not on sale.

Some caveats:
1) I have never ordered from them before, but I have heard they are legitimate. Can't speak for packaging, customer service, etc.
2) Shipping is very inexpensive, imho (About $9 for 4 films), but their delivery estimate for my order is three months. Definitely not for anyone in the US who wants their stuff by Christmas!

Hope this helps...

I used to order from them all the time, but they've had issues shipping to the US for the better part of the last year, so cross your fingers.

It took 6 months for me to receive my last order with them. Proceed with caution if you're in the US.

This should be posted under Region B deals. There you'll already find a lengthy ongoing post about JB sales and their issues shipping to the U.S. I've kept that thread alive with my own experiences with JB. They do appear to be back on track again. Oh, and one tip: JB's prices include a 10% tax -- GST -- that you can request to have refunded since you live in the U.S.

I don't want to repeat too much here, but you can find a lot of info in the OP I linked above.

Since the releases I was looking at are region free, why does this belong in the Region B deals?

Thanks for the posting. Looks like I am taking my chances and expecting a very long wait time for the movies.. As long as I get them, then that's okay.

Have both shopped at several of their brick and mortar stores (in New Zealand), and ordered from them many times in the last six years (delivering to NYC). That said, my last order was in May and took four months to arrive - and not at my door, but at the post office. Hoping yours reach port much sooner.

JB Hifi is an Australian (and New Zealand) retailer and B&M like our Best Buy. It's located in Region B and the majority of their titles will be Region B. Not everyone shopping here in the forum is going to be aware of Region locked issues, so I believe that's the main reason for keeping these threads separated by country of origin.

I'm still waiting on 6 items going back to March 2021. Hurry up and wait! Haha.

Used to order from them all the time before COVID, but I don't trust them to ship internationally anymore. Last order I placed took 5.5 months to arrive (from Australia to the USA) IIRC. Caveat emptor.

Sounds like a solid 6 month wait for me. That is actually fine. My unwatched pile is greater than some people's collection. All I ask is to eventually get my entire order.

Guess we'll check back next May and find out!

I was trying to order some region free 3D titles as well as the Sharpe and Hornblower series..... none would ship to the US. I can't contact because there system won't take a US phone number.

This is covered in the other thread but unavailability isn’t due to licensing or legal reasons—it’s how they warehouse their products. The newer/more popular the title, the more likely it’ll be in the main warehouse which ships internationally.

I can’t recall the solution to the phone number issue but it’s in the forums here. I know it needs to be international (+1 for the US) and the form can be wonky. Using another browser might help.

I’ve continued to buy from them after the Spring 2021 mega-delay and things have been arriving within 2-3 months again. They have great customer service—happy to continue to be a loyal customer.

JB HI FI Sale and extra % Off: Don't know if this code will work for others. I received it in an email about the sale, and an extra 10% OFF: 92BOYS3V75I19K through the 12th.

I manged to order several blu rays: Closer to the Edge 3D, Trolls World Tour 3D, and Sharpe: the Classic Collection. Others that I would have ordered were unavailable to ship to your location.....

Their price cuts during sales are typically way more than 10% off, but maybe you’re finding it applies on top of other current deals?

Default Yes, it was an addtional % off!

Yes, they had site-wide 20% off movies and it was an additional 10% off! It was on top of some very low prices too. For example: The Sharpe Classic Collection, now priced at $109 was 20% off- $87, then I got an additional 10% taking it to $78! That made it around $55 in USA dollars..... I picked up TT3D: Closer To The Edge 3D for $7.18 AU.

I inquired about a GST refund and they said to email them with my order number...... I'll see how that works.

It would be worth it sign up for their emails.... I'll be checking in the future for some items that wouldn't ship to me in case it changes. I would have picked up the Hornblower series and additional 3D titles if they hadn't been out of stock or had restricted delivery.

That sounds like a perfect deal for boxed sets or other high-priced releases you'd like to buy on its own, but it's hard to beat their B1G1 or B2G1 sales.

I always get a GST refund. Others have recommended waiting a few days or until an item has shipped. Simply use their Submit A Request form, tell them you're in the U.S., and that you'd like a GST refund.

Myself and others have shared a lot of info and history in this thread since there hasn't been any place else active until this BF thread.

Are they taking U.S. orders? When I tried to place an order it would not accept my mobile phone number so I could complete my order.

Yes, another known issue addressed in the other thread. Though it seemed like that issue was fixed, some people are posting here about it again.

I'm in the US and originally was able to enter my address and phone with no issue, so I haven't messed with it. Trying it again now, I'm having trouble too, but I got it to work again. Don't bother going into your account and adding a new address/phone. Instead, add an item, go to Checkout, and then add your shipping details. Delivery details dropdown, choose United States. Enter your address details first. Finally, for phone I selected US from the from the dropdown, then entered a 1 and my 10 digit phone number. So it should be entered as 1##########

Some have also tried using any Australian business phone number and entering it, using the Australia prefix from the dropdown.

Let us know if anything worked. Also note, there are some items that JB will not ship to the US, but that's a different issue that shouldn't affect this.
