United Kingdom David Attenborough: The Serengeti Collection / Anthology 3D Blu-ray [Region Free]

David Attenborough's seven 3D productions are available in a variety of REGION FREE compilations as well as separately but if you are buying them separately please note that Flying Monsters was released in the US and Australia in a shortened 39m version so make sure you avoid that one (the UK version is 70m long). Similarly, The Penguin King 3D was released in the US as Adventures of the Penguin King with Tim Allen replacing David Attenborough and some footage removed. First Life, Rise of Animals and Great Barrier Reef were not produced in 3D.

David Attenborough - The Serengeti Collection 3D Blu-ray 9 programs

David Attenborough: The 3D Collection Blu-ray 3 of the programs

David Attenborough: The 3D Collection - Volume II Blu-ray 3 of the programs

David Attenborough: The Blu-ray Anthology Blu-ray 8 of the programs

Available now.

Never heard of Micro Monsters, but I'll buy anything with Attenborough. Can't wait to hear from someone who bought it. Quality, Region, etc...

I really loved Mico Monsters. I got it around Christmas. I already have Kingdom do the Plants. I will eventually get Galapagos. Funny, I never bought any nature BDs, but now when they are in 3D, I really want to buy them.

Micro Monsters is great! So is Kingdom of plants. Excellent 3D and good documentaries. I own Conquest of the Skies & Galapagos already too. I actually bought 3 of those titles in another triple-pack about 6 months ago on sale through Amazon UK. I think my set came with Galapagos, Skies and Monsters though.

Hard to go wrong wth any of these and they all play perfectly in myRegion-A player.

Thanks. I assume this is cheaper than buying each release separate? I actually have all three of those in my cart, so it would probably be better just to get this instead.

Also, even though this claims region B, some of the separate releases like Micro Monsters 3d and Kingdom of Plants have been reported to play in US players, so any idea if this triple feature will play in Region A players?

Yeah if someone can confirm the region, I will most likely pick this up! I have most of his other ones.

All of these have been region free, but I believe the extras disc for Kingdom of the Plants is 50hz because it won't play on my TV. I just get a black screen.

Definitely interested in this set, but I'm hoping there'll be an Amazon UK sale sometime soon so the price becomes a little more attractive. Right now, it's not any cheaper than if you were to purchase the titles separately.

Noticed that as well. I need a little more incentive/motivation as far as $$$ before I pull the trigger.

I have Micro Monsters as an individual title and the bonus "Making Of" feature would not play through my region A Blu-ray player. I was able to make a playable video file with MakeMKV, a free video conversion software program. The .mkv files this software produces should work on most recent video playback equipment regardless of region.

Got this on Friday and I've watched Kingdom of Plants in its entirety and 1 episode of Micro Monsters.

I've got to say that I've seen loads of 3D at home and in the cinema and this blows everything out of the water. Nothing comes close to the level of depth and pop out than what I saw numerous times in the plants documentaries.

This is a must for introducing someone to 3D or reigniting what excited you about the technology in the first place. I'm happy as hell with my purchase. It's region free too and cheap as ****.

It even comes in a chipboard box. Sturdy and glossy. Get it!

Sounds like I'll have to check it out. I was somewhat underwhelmed with his Flying Monsters and Natural History Museum Alive films.

I hadn't realised there were multiple episodes of these. The two I already have were one-off specials.

Question

Just asking for a reconfirmation that this set is region free. I was about the order Natural History Museum Alive from Amazon UK when I saw this and figured it is a great deal for all of the 3D's plus the other two docs (individually they would cost $96.18 with shipping to me here in the USA)

This set would actually be around $54 US shipped.

Even the 3rd party seller on amazon US is over $10 more.

Here on this site it's listed as lowest price at £34.99. CamelCamelCamelUK also says it's at a lowest price point. Just want to hear from someone in the US that has tested these that they are region free. An amazon US review said they couldnt play three of the discs. I know from reading the forums that the extras on the discs are PAL format but I am only interested in the main documentaries anyways so that's ok by me.

I am anxious to pull the trigger on this as I have had several of these 3D's on my wish list for years

Thanks!

2112, I'm pretty sure all of the David Attenborough docs are region free. Kingdom of Plants and Museum Alive are definitely region free. So is Flying Monsters 3D, but I don't think that one is included. The bonus discs, if there are any in that set, won't play.

Smaugone, indeed Flying Monsters is not included in this set. The titles are:

Kingdom of Plants
Galapagos
Micro Monsters
Natural History Museum Alive
Conquest of the Skies
The Penguin King

and in 2D.....
Rise of Animals
First Life

I have none of these and would very much like this set, it seems like a great price for all of this.

I love nature documentaries anyways. I have several in 3D, the Flight of the Butterflies and Tiny Giants

Can anyone with all of these weigh in on if they're comparable for 3D quality?

Seems many liked volume 1, so I bought that. Volume 2 is I assume just as good, but I can't find it nearly as cheap as I did Volume 1, so trying to resist...
