I ordered it as soon as I found out about it. It is a no-brainer and I have been looking forward to it for a long time.

I’ll definitely be getting this. Even if the show is a Saint Seiya ripoff, it’s still a lot of fun, and was a huge part of early US anime fandom. I wish Discotek had made a reverse cover with the Ronin Warriors title like what they did with the OVA DVD, or just used that title instead since it’s by far what most people know the show as here, and certainly what I most associate it with. I’ll definitely be alphabetizing it on my shelf with that title regardless.

Holy moly!

This better be getting licensed by Anime Ltd. in the UK! Discotek always gets the good stuff!

I wish this had a more accurate dub.

For a 90s anime dub localized for children’s television, this is about as faithful as it gets. The biggest changes, as far as I understand, were the character names and some of the terminology. There were barely any cuts. There’s certainly no reason to redub a cheesy obscure 80s anime where most of its audience today is based around nostalgia for the dub.

I'm fine with the dub it's not that bad this will definitely be a nice upgrade visually coming from the Ronin Warriors Complete Collection DVD Bandai put out back in 2004.

I wish Sunrise would remake the series and include all the stuff that was explained in the artbooks, novels and CD dramas.

Ohh did they(creators) expended the story in that media?

I watched the Discotek dvds last year, it was a fun ride, but I'm sure the bluray would be great, I've seen the japanese bluray and the video looks amazing!

I'm hoping the video looks as good as the Japanese bluray. I would have bought the Japanese version if the price was more reasonable.

Some of the artbooks had additional info about how each Trooper got his armor, and their family life. One of the novels goes into depth about the past of Arago (the big bad guy) and the history of Kayura's clan. There are four audio dramas on CD, each focuses on one of the other four Troopers.

Thanks for the info Guyver! I didn't know about these. it's a shame a lot of the Samurai Troopers media has never made it out it out of Japan. Also do you have any links to the material? So, I can get an idea of what i'm looking for and, has any of it been translated?

Thanks for the info. and that's great they actually went a bit more into the story of these characters, one of the things always got me was that we never know much of them, specially how they got their armors, why they were chosen, and is great that they also went a bit more into their families stories too.

I'll definitely be picking this up. Growing up in the 90s I had the Ronin Warriors action figures with the removable armor from its Toonami run.

For anyone interested in more info on the supplemental materials I mentioned earlier:

https://web.archive.org/web/20090131...her-realm.net/

The character bios for the Troopers have the info about their families and how each found their armor.

The audio drama section has a summary of each CD and a character guide.

Sorry for the internet archive link, but very few Samurai Troopers sites remain online.
