Default Resident Evil Extinction: Air Brushed Milla Closeups?

Watching this DVD at 1080p, is it just me, or are there scenes where Milla's face (in closeup) looks air-brushed - badly?

I noticed the very same thing when I was watching the movie this past weekend. I would like to know why they decided to do this?

I did not notice this in the first two Resident Evil flicks.

Hmm, I thought I was imagining it when I saw it, but I guess maybe there is more to it than I had initially thought.

I wonder why they chose to do that? It seems odd that they would use a technique that would conceivably reduce the amount of visible detail on a high definition disc.

I am not sure either..her face looks great in general though. Maybe she had a scar or something during the shooting.. hard to tell. Or maybe they just wanted to give her that look. Would be interesting to know though.

I'm thinking it went down like this:

Milla has a slight imperfection on her face at some point during the filming. When it's determined that it's going to be released on Blu-ray, she insists that it be hidden, or she'll throw a fit, and refuse to sign on for RE 4 or 5. Afraid to rock the boat, the editing room goes to work. Is it better she look like a mannequin than proudly display her zit for the world to see? I think not. Still, I'm glad I'm not the only one that noticed it. Anybody see it in the theater and notice it?

[EDIT]: Didn't see Mega-Prime's post. I'm sticking with the "Air brush me or else" theory.

Just a long shot but maybe the directer wanted her to appear "flawless" as I believe she is the only character they airbrushed.

It seems it's been noticed in reviews as well. I found quite a few results when doing a Google search. Here's one of them:

Get used to it. As more and more movies make their way to hi-def TV and HDM, more and more actors will be concerned with their appearance in close-ups.

It's not all vanity, either. I saw an interview with Michael Dorn (Worf on Star Trek: The Next Generation), where he commented about ST:TNG being shown in HD on stations like TNT. His complaint was that you can see the imperfections or "rush jobs" on his Klingon make-up, because they didn't anticipate that level of clarity when they originally did the show.

Now that HD is more prevalent, studio effects teams may be overcompensating the airbrush technique on close-ups. I've met and talked with Milla a few times, and she never came across as someone who was overly vain... my guess is this was a studio decision.

Same thing with Scarlett Johansen in The Island for the first half. Someone else here mentioned she had a skin problem too.

It was badly noticable on the DVD too (at least the PAL 576 one)

Oh I love them, that's why I watch sports in High Def. To see Dirty Fat Sweaty men with zits tackle each other. You know you're watching High Def when you See Pimples. Gotta love the Zits. I mean zits are zits, but Zits in 1080p is true quality.

I just thought it looked like she had on more makeup than everyone else. I just thought they were trying to make her look perfect. Is she the original or is she a clone??

I wonder if Mila's face was made to look that way in keeping with the story? Umbrella made her a super killing machine, and I wonder if that was done to reflect this in the storyline?

I noticed it but since it wasn't that way in the other two I assumed it was 'cause Alice is essentially supposed to be perfect. And since she's constantly evolving, maybe her being in the desert closed up her pores to resist some of the effects that a dry dirty desert would have on someone.

it was because she was supposed to look... better more advanced than the others. the "genetic" changes in her made her more "perfect" basically she is better than everyone else so she has better skin.
