I really wish some label like Arrow, Vinegar Syndrome or Blue Underground could get access to the Rollin titles. Some of the Redemption discs are pretty terrible by current standards. Living Dead Girl, Fascination, and Night of the Hunted in particular have excessive filtering. The German releases seemed to be sourced from the same outdated scans.

The artwork for Zombie Lake is awful. The movie isn't good either, but the original poster art is much better than this lame attempt to make it look like a scary action movie.

I love Redemption for releasing these films but all of their artwork is awful

Yeah. I agree. Some good posters exist for the movies and they choose this?

I was thinking of getting their releases since I've wanted to delve into his films. But hearing the transfers are not good leaves me cautious and wondering if another company will aquire the rights or would Redemption ever restore them?

The transfers are all decent... none are good but most of these aren't likely to see better anytime soon. Though I guess that new Virgin Witch release is far better, so who knows.

With patience these will almost all get down to ~$10 in a Kino sale so I wouldn't mind the double dip...

Thanks. I'll keep my eye out for the best prices then and start acquiring the titles. He's one cult director I've not seen any films from, despite being aware of him for years and was always on my radar to view eventually.

I love Jean Rollin. I bought Fascination years ago and finally bought the rest of his movies with the help of my stimulus money last year. Some of them were pretty hard to find - not sure if they're OOP or between pressings or what. The UK releases are easier and cheaper to find but I've heard some of them are censored.

My favorites are The Living Dead Girl (his most heartbreaking film), The Iron Rose, and The Grapes of Death (his first attempt at making a legit Horror film, and it's actually kind of scary). I need to revisit Lips of Blood, but I remember digging that one as well.

La comtesse Ixe (1976) was released on DVD in Scandinavia by Pink Flamingo Entertainment (a sub label of Another World Entertainment). I think it is region free, I know their release of Shaun Costello's Forced Entry definitely is. Thinjk this is the ONLY release this film has had anywhere.

The ones that have US Blu-rays or DVDs are linked to them which leads to all releases.

I did add the 2 Region 2 DVDs for The Night of the Clocks since their is no US release.

I added the 4K release of Bacchanales Sexuelles since it's Region Free, the Blu-ray isn't.
