Yes, although I liked their Vision-S Concept. However, sedans generally are on a precipitous decline in major markets like the US so an SUV makes sense. The EV market is attracting a ton of attention from startups, but like Sony's exploration of it there are some random legacy brands getting involved too. Another example in recent months was Foxconn with their new Foxtron brand.

Many of the announced efforts will probably fail, while others will never end up happening at all. There was already an era of consolidation with the legacy automakers, so having a bunch of new companies and brands is a reversal of that. Said reversal will probably prove temporary if the new global population peaks later this century lead to a peak of markets with people seeking a new car.

Sony could probably build a great car though if they have the right team and vision (pun intended). I hope they have a built-in 4K player.

No, actual car makers with over a century of history in creating vehicles are having trouble with electric vehicles, never mind an electronic manufacture. If you want an electric you should go buy a Tesla, they are the only brand with the tech background and charging network that makes owning one worthwhile.

Though to the people like the one above that own a Tesla, are you going to be upset soon when you pull up to the super chargers and see a couple Fords and Chevys plugged in and charging. I have heard that Ford and Gm have surrendered in trying to create their own charging platform and are going to partner with Tesla for theirs.
