Hey there, I searched but didn't find a thread on the American version of Ghosts, only the UK version. So, here's a new thread for this fantastic new show! (with some cut-n-pastes from Wikipedia)
I love love LOVE this show. Rarely has a TV show made me cry, much less a comedy. But this has, several times. "Pete's Wife" especially hit me hard. Rose McIver as Samantha Arondekar is wonderful, and VERY easy on the eyes. Utkarsh Ambudkar as Jay Arondekar is a nice surprise, new to me but still funny (I especially liked when [Show spoiler] , wonderfully done!).Brandon Scott Jones as Captain Isaac Higgintoot, the Revolutionary War guy, I think he's my favorite ghost. Well, him and... Richie Moriarty as Pete Martino, the guy with the arrow through his neck. He's delightful. And the rest are pretty great, too: Asher Grodman as Trevor Lefkowitz, the Wall Street guy with no pants, surprisingly not as one-dimensional as I expected/dreaded. Rebecca Wisocky as Hetty Woodstone, Rose McIver's character's fourth-great-grandmother. Sheila Carrasco as Susan Montero, a.k.a Flower, a hippie. Danielle Pinnock as Alberta Haynes, a Prohibition-era jazz singer (I recognize the actress from an AT&T commercial with Lily (ah, Lily ![]() Roman Zaragoza as Sasappis, a Lenape Native American Devan Chandler Long as Thorfinn, the Viking. "Land ship!" Some interesting guest stars, like Mark Linn-Baker (Cousin Larry Appleton from "Perfect Strangers"), Enrico Colantoni from "Just Shoot Me" and "Veronica Mars", Rachael Harris... If you haven't given it a chance, I heartily recommend you try it at least once. |

I was admittedly worriedwhen I heard about the adaptation, much less being on CBS because the original UK version is fantastic... and let's face it, American adaptations are typically trash and some have even used the exact scripts (looking at you, Coupling on NBC!) but I love me some banana delivery girl Rose McIver (GIVE ME THE LAST TWO SEASONS OF iZOMBIE on BD, WB!) so I gave it a shot and was pleasantly surprised.
It's nice that they didn't do an exact copy and paste of the ghosts, some are similar but not exactly the same (the Lady of the house in the US comes off a little more uppity and cold compared to the UK version, and the soldier comes off more as a not-out gag than somebody who is naive about it) and doesn't feel as cozy as the original, and adding more ghosts can kind of make it feel cramped as well... but it's very good and easily the best show on CBS right now. It was picked up for a second season today. https://variety.com/2022/tv/news/gho...-4-1235161996/ |

I thought they became ghosts when the floor gave way and they went crashing down.

In the UK, Mike (the husband) kept trying to make potions he found online to try and also see the ghosts. I could see maybe Jay wanting to see them too and tries to have a near death experience to see them after getting the idea from falling through, if he doesn't see them already. |

It's weird how anybody would release a show 2 months after the new season premieres, even if we take our conditioned behavior of the previous season on disc as a part of promotion for the new season, it's just weird to go back and watch season 1 as you're in the middle of season 2 lol |

But November 22nd is a weird ass date. Studio Person #1: Hey guys, when should we release season 1 of Ghosts? SP#2: Hm, probably best to have it the week or two before season 2 begins on TV, right? SP#3: No no, it needs to be 8 weeks AFTER the new season starts. SP#1: That seems perfectly logical, I'm sold. 2 months late it is! |

I started watching Season 1 on Paramount+... what happened to the headless ghost?
He seems to have disappeared from the show after the pilot. Does he come back? |

Crash shows up briefly in a couple of other S1 episodes. None so far in S2 but future appearances are possible.

he is seen from time to time, but I think decapitated ghost with head on neck is boring while decapitated ghost with head (or body) missing takes money for special effects, so he is not used that much. It would be nice to one day get his death story.
