How funny- I JUST watched my StudioCanal UHD last night. Very content with that edition (yes I’m aware of the compression issues) but will totally double-dip provided Shout doesn’t fudge up the color space.

It's a no from me. SC edition is fine, when played in DV anyway, and as it's got the OG audio too then there's not much extra incentive. Edit: also got the Shout BD somewhere so I'm covered on the extras front too. Maybe this'll have some new stuff but there are only so many more people they can interview for it, maybe the first AD's cousin's dog walker or something?

Now if this was The Fog with a proper new encode and correctly pitched OG mono then we'd be in business!

I was so initially excited I forgot this is SF for a moment. If the encode is like the encode of Alligator , it'll be mine. Otherwise I have all the other Shout extras on the BD and I have the 4K transfer on UHD.

Same here. And while I used to love extras, I haven't had nearly the time to dive into them like I used to. So SC is the keeper at the moment.

I’ll gladly give up my SF steelbook f this is a good improvement, this is easily one of my favorite Carpenter flicks.

Like many others, I'll wait to see on this one. Generally very happy with my SC UHD import, but it certainly isn't perfect. Don't love the over-saturated "crushed-blacks" look of the long tracking shot where Snake first discovers the crashed plane wreckage, or the under-saturated drabness of the "arena" scene where Snake fights the big muscular dude. If the rest of the movie is up to par and those distracting scenes are knocked into place (AND if the original audio is still retained) then I'll pull the trigger on this title yet again.

This finally explains why Paramount released Escape From L.A. on 4K. It would of been nice of Par to license 4K rights so Scream could have done a set. Oh well.

Apart from encoding a couple movies in entirely the wrong colour space (was it deliberate? Incompetence? Deliberate incompetence?) then Shout haven't touched the colour grading for any of their StudioCanal ports thus far, I wouldn't expect it from their EFNY either seeing as it was reviewed and approved by Carpenter and Cundey: https://britishcinematographer.co.uk...from-new-york/

Yeah, copy that. If it's the same transfer then I'm keepin' my SC disc. I already have it wrapped up in "original art" from the last Scream release, so I'm satisfied on that front.
