Default Nintendo Gamecube Collection

I decided to start a Gamecube collection again and noticed prices are wild! Just paid $140 at a store for a complete in box black label Zelda Twighlight Princess

But anyways I found my old Gamecube, picked up an xtra one on eBay and started to buy some games to add to what I still had. My plan is to buy most of the games I used to own back in the day and have that be my collection. I dont think I’ll be seeking out real xpensive rare games like Cubivore for example.

I wanted to share my small Gamecube collection. So far I have the following:

Mario Superstar Baseball
Mario Power Tennis
Super Mario Strikers
Super Mario Sunshine
Mario Kart Double Dash
Fight Night Round 2
Tony Hawk Pro Skater 3
Tony Hawk Pro Skater 4
Zelda Twighlight Princess
WWE Day of Recknoning
Avatar The Last Airbender
NBA Street Vol 1
Nba Street Vol 2
Zelda Wind Waker
Metroid Prime
Freekstyle
Crash: Wrath of Cortex
Metal Gear Solod: Twin Snakes
[Show spoiler]

Games I still want to get:

Metal Gear Twin Snakes
Donkey Konga

I hope Nintendo will eventually give us options to either download or subscribe to access Gamecube games. I want to try out classic games I missed out such as Pokémon Colosseum, Metroid Prime, Pikmin, Fire Emblem and Animal Crossing.

Same here. It’d be nice if they offered them for the Switch online or released them for the Switch in HD. Im still hoping they would do Metroid Prime, and the Zelda games in HD for the Switch.

Darkened Skye is one of the true "hidden gems". Unfortunately word is out now about the game, and the price is rising quickly (It always hovered around $10 just a year or two ago).

Fun action platformer with amazing voice acting, very good graphics and level design. I had much more fun with this than most Zelda games (Wind Waker included), and I love Zelda.

Just curious, why do you buy games that have remastered versions that are cheaper/more accessible

For me its for collecting purposes and I want to have access to the originals and share that with my kids. Sort of a history lesson for them, “i hiked 10 miles in the snow and then had to play on this!” Lol.

It also reminds me of a simpler time. And lastly, I guess I can always sell them if needed and not lose money, might even make some if the prices keep going up and 20 years from now I move em

I may have played it back in the day but I don’t remember so I’m going to say I didn’t. However that’s currently like a $100 game so not sure if I will be able to get it unless I find it cheap lol.

Mannn that thing brings back mems! I remember enjoying the shit outta:

Need for Speed Underground

Need for Speed Underground 2

Need for Speed Most Wanted

Spider-Man (2002)

Godzilla: Destroy All Monsters Melee

Crash Bandicoot: The Wrath of Cortex

Smashing Drive

Animal Crossing

Spongebob Squarepants: Battle for Bikini Bottom

Lets not forget Action Replay Max (loved having 999999999 cash to customize my NFS cars and getting to that island in Animal Crossing without having that stoopid GBA adaptor)

And last but not least: Super Smash Bros Melee!

One GC game I remember renting but not owning was Transformers: The Game (2007). Loved playing as G1 Optimus Prime (I recall you get him after beating the game once) and kicking serious ass! I was surprised it actually came out at the end of the Cubes life as I remember seeing it in a magazine ad around Dec 2006. I had begged my Mom to take me down to Circuit City that December to P/O it, but they said the GC version got canceled and was coming out for the Wii (which we didn't get until 2009 when we located one with the Brawl bundle). I distinctly remember finding it for rent from Hollywood Video/Game Crazy when we used to go there for cheap N64 games. It was probably an HV rental exclusive at the time as Blockbuster didn't have it. The HV/GC closed around September 2007 and by that time I got a used Fat PS2 with a shit ton of games with both Transformers games.

Happy for you!

The Gamecube was an under appreciated console during its time, a little by myself as well although tastes change when you get older. I ended up doing what you did. I also wanted to play Twilight Princess. I get the box of the game in mint condition for a few years as it was backwards compatible with the Wii, then I came and opened up the box and I'd lost the game lol Ended up buying just the disc on eBay.

I still have my used copy of MGS Twin Snakes, it got a lot of hate but I think it's a great title. The fact it's unlikely to see a re-release as it wasn't in the MGS Collection recently, was a real shame and means it's highly collectible. The graphics and gameplay are great, imo an improvement on the PS1 original although some claim the first-person part verges on game breaking. The first boss fight comes to mind. Doesn't bother me, hate the original boss fight on the PS1 lol

Let us know what you think of it!

Definitely Eternal Darkness should be on your list further down the line.
