Exactly. After spending hours playing the PC games I was excited for this and it was a huge letdown. The only good thing about this film is Urban and that short 1st person sequence.

I'm indifferent to this film. If I remove the Doom connection it isn't a bad Sci fi film. Entertaining. Don't think I'll buy it though.

This will join the likes of Van Helsing, Ang Lee's Hulk, The Scorpion King, Smokin' Aces or Battleship. At this point I wouldn't be surprised if something like Barb Wire or Patch Adams follows soon.

Any movie that was based on a video game, a person can't expect Lawrence of Arabia, or The Ten Commandments and Doom is not any different. It's a popcorn flick.

All I know is they better be releasing (or have licensed a release) for Conan the Barbarian for its 40th this year if they are bothering with titles like Doom (2005).

Very happy for those who like this movie of course.

At least you're moaning about films from the same studio, unlike most folks who do the time-honoured "why does this crap get released on UHD while x movie doesn't" routine. (But is there a stumbling block for Conan in the form of Foxney's overseas rights?)
