Default Are there bluish-blacks in one scene of Superbad?

I was watching Superbad for the second time last night, both times in one scene the blacks are suddenly blue. It happened both times I watched. It's the scene towards the end when Seth and Evan are in his basement. This is the only place in the whole movie where this happens.

Is it on all disks, or did I end up with a bad one? It's hard to figure out how it would only be on my disk though.

I did search, but couldn't find anything.
Thanks

Since no one has answered, I will assume it's a bad disc. It is from 1:47:26 to 1:48:26. The morning after scene in Evan's basement after the "I love you man" stuff.I will check for a few more days, then exchange it at BB if I can find my receipt.

Are you talking about the black bars?

I never really paid attention to any of that. Sorry. So far, my Blu-ray copy of Superbad still plays great.

It might just actually be the way it was filmed. But I'd have to go back and check just to be sure.

It was only in the shadows. It was as if the developer was bad and didn't fully develop the shadow areas(I saw this alot in my photo processing days). I doubt that is what happened, I probably just have a bad disc.

I doubt it, it was only in this one scene. The third time I watched, it was just to see if this popped up anywhere else, and it didn't.
Thanks

This is a digital medium. "Bad discs" don't alter the look of a scene like that. If it was "bad", you'd have far more errors... like the movie breaking up and stopping.

Superbad was shot digitally (Panavision Genesis?)... not film.

That's what I figured originally, but apparently no one else is seeing this. Also, the film thing was just a description of what it looked like, all colors and ranges fine except shadows which were blue.

I guess I just notice it more than everyone else.

That happened to me with Man on Fire. There's compression artifacts in the opening credits and no one noticed and I thought it was my TV. Turns out it's because the bitrate drops to like 5.
