So, given that Random Space Media was able to release Spider-Man: No Way Home on 3D blu-ray, we know that studios are open to doing limited edition variant releases with smaller distribution companies.
One of the biggest of these companies is Zavvi, which as you probably know, have TONS of exclusive steelbook releases, many from Disney/Marvel/Pixar. Similarly, Arrow films is licensing movies like Robocop and True Romance for their own steelbook versions. My theory is this, since companies like Zavvi seem to already have the business relationships intact that allow them to release limited edition steelbooks with these studios, they may also have the lines of communication open to pitch releasing some of these lost 3D blu-rays (i.e. Dark Phoenix, Encanto, Mission Impossible Fallout, STAR WARS, etc). My suggestion is that we all reach out to these companies via email, social media, contact forms, etc and request that they get the rights to some of these previously unavailable 3D releases. Random Space Media is not the only game in town. Thoughts? |
