Making Alan and Ellie a couple was quite sweet.

For those worried about the locusts overtaking the movie, they don't. They're literally a plot device to have the characters encounter dinosaurs and there's way more dinosaur screentime in this.

That’s all they talked about is Locusts this and Locusts that. They whole point of the movie was about getting the girl and using her DNA and changing their DNA.

I had a lot of fun with this. Loved the globe trotting elements to the first half. The second half is mostly contained to the Biosyn facility and jungle. Most of the characters get a good amount of runtime. The only characters I feel were kinda short changed was Blue and the Rex. I wish they had more of a presence. Cutting the prologue was also a weird choice. Despite being the longest in the series, I did feel like it could have been longer, as the ending could have had more of a wrap up.

Seeing Alan and Ellie together again was so nice.

I'd place this right in the middle of the franchise. I'd rank them 1,2,4,6,5,3.

Anyone notice who the bad guy was? It’s Lewis Dodgson from the first movie. I always wondered what happened to him after the first movie. That’s cool they bring the character back.

I thoroughly enjoyed this. Much more than JW 2 and much more than JP 3. I was entertained throughout. I liked the full circle fan service with the original 3 and I thought Goldblum as always stole the show. I think the critics were overly harsh.

One thing though, now that Disney owns Indiana Jones, Universal came dangerously close to copyright infringement with that Sam Neill cave scene with the torch and the grabbing of the hat.

But yeah I enjoyed it. Solid 3.5/5

The only low point for me was the bumble**** of a villain. But oh well. Not the end of the world.

I wonder how many people put it together. I'd think that he has the ill fated shaving creme can Nedry tried to steal for him, would be a hint.

I was bummed they recast the role, but then read on Wiki the original actor is in jail for kiddie porn, so I can gget over it.

I'd say it was a VERY necessary recasting. They did a good job, I thought they could have been the same person, 30 years older.

And where did all that locust talk bring them?

Amongst the dinosaurs.

Probably my favourite amongst the Jurassic World trilogy, yes it has cheesy dialogue and weird cuts, but didn't think it was the worse thing ever as I've seen.

Loved seeing some of my old favourites like the Dilophosaurus, but also the 2 Rexes couple from Isla Sorna in the end (would loved it if the fight against the Giganatosaurus would've been the 3 Rexes vs the Giga) but I loved the Therizinosaurus, that was the dino MVP for me.

Yeah, they should've kept the Prologue that would give more weight to the Giga vs Rex rivalry

The worst of the entire Jurassic series for me. Why make a world with dinosaurs just to return to an island? All deaths were predictable, no heroes were ever in any danger.

Bloated to accommodate too many characters. Writing was horrendous - looks like the same writer from Pacific Rim: Uprising, so I guess that's to be expected.

I purchased ten tickets for family and friends and was just severely disappointed. How can you make a dinosaur movie so boring. Wish I just watched Top Gun for a second time.

I love dinosaur movies and hope someone else can take the reigns after this and make a better movie.

Though he says that they're still canon, it's pretty clear to me that Trevorrow isn't a fan of TLW and JP3, and is making his own alternate sequel series to the original.

I thought that writing out Ellie's settled marriage and effectively undoing that element of JP3 was a bit of a shame. But hey, he's the director.

Anyway, my first impression is that this ranks ahead of JP3 and JWFK for me. The international espionage elements were pretty cool, and the action is breathless and often exciting (even though the movie strains credulity even by this series' standards by asking us to believe that two men in their Seventies can just dust themselves off and walk away from a somersaulting car wreck with nary a scratch).

The structural and visual call backs to the original movie aren't overdone, but they're effectively used. I love that Dodgson gets THAT can of Barbasol shaving foam and then gets killed by the same species of dinosaur that killed the man whom he sent to sabotage Jurassic Park and start the whole thing going all those years ago. Man, that's just the PERFECT button on this whole thing, and this element alone gives the movie a pass for me.

I said the same thing when I watched THE BATMAN last week. And how can they make a Batman movie so boring.

Personally, I had fun with Dominion. I guess I'm wondering what else you wanted....a new Jurassic Park opening again?

People fall out of love all the time. I think it was clear Grant always had second thoughts about letting Elie go, even back in JP3. Her marriage was over, her kids were grown up. Ellie too could feel those old vibes. Their chemsitry is still amazing after all these years.

That's funny - I loved The Batman.

No, I did not want that - I wanted the exact opposite. No more islands - I felt this movie went back to trying to be another Jurassic Park without the park. The last movie laboriously set up a world where dinosaurs are out everywhere - that's what I wanted to see. Not
[Show spoiler]plot armor protected heroes stuck on an island while we know they are never in any real danger
. Regardless, I think whatever the premises, the movie would have suffered because of the writer. I thought the story and dialogue were just awful and have learned it was partly written by a new writer whose only other credit is Pacific Rim Uprising.

I thought it was hot garbage, but I'm glad you liked it.

I am disappointed to read that there is a lot of action and great set pieces in the film. I wanted dinos sitting around a table staring at each other for two hours.
