Will the disc likely be identical to the one from the 4 film set released last year?

Just wish they zoomed in a bit on the poster and put Spock in the middle so it isn't so lopsided like the old videos did, but hey ho I'll get it anyway.

The cover design is giving me warm and fuzzy flashbacks to Paramount's 'Special Collector's Series' VHS line.

Actually, each spine has a different cloaked spaceship on it.

Collect them all!

Yeah, but the jerks at Paramount screwed up -- they used the TNG Vor'cha class Klingon ship instead of the K'Tinga class seen in the movies. HACKS!!!!

Actually, go buy them all and line their spines up... squint your eyes real hard and unfocus them. You know, like a magic eye poster. Tell us what you see :P

I watched this today. Been a while since I've seen it (probably since the Blu first came out) so it was nice to revisit, even though parts of it don't seem to have aged well since my last watch. Still love when they steal the Enterprise and trick the Klingons by blowing up the ship. Still the best time on Trek a ship self destructed. And of course, "I'll kill you later" then "You said you would kill me" "I lied" is still classic.

I can't say I was blown away by the video, but it was still an upgrade from the original blu and worth the purchase.

Christopher Lloyd is amazing in this. Other than the three classic BTTF films he is underutilized. He was great as the psychiatrist in Chuck and gave a really great heartbreaking performance in an episode of Fringe.

I'm afraid this one, more than any of the other post-TMP classic Trek films, really looks its budget.

Yeah, it certainly has always had a rather drab and bland look to it, so there is definitely a limit to how much it's really going to wow anybody. Having seen it now on VHS, DVD, Blu and 4K it definitely is the best and most flim like it's ever looked, but it's certainly a more nuanced upgrade over the Blu then some other movies.

Just watched this in 4K for the first time, and was reminded of a question I’ve had about it for decades: where is the 12th Klingon? Sulu states that the crew complement of a bird of prey is a dozen officers and men, yet only 11 are accounted for. One gets shot for blowing up the Grissom. Six die when the Enterprise self-destructs. Spock tosses one to his death on the Genesis planet surface, and Kirk phasers one. Kruge gets some boots to the face, then John Larroquette gets taken below. That’s leaves one missing. Any ideas???

He says it's "about a dozen officers and men". So that's good enough in my simple mind, lol. But I never actually counted, so good on you!
