Default Xfinity Rewards

Didn’t see a thread already, but for anybody that has Xfinity, they are giving away a free movie every Tuesday through August 1st. Last week was Independence Day and today was The Sandlot.

Xfinity is a part of MA, so if you have your Xfinity account connected, they will port.

I understand completely. I have done a few of these already, so far no issues (knocking rather hard on wood!!!). Don’t always trust Comcast, but they have also been giving out free movie tickets too.

Got 2 free tickets for Jurassic World: Dominion and 2 for Minions: The Rise of Gru… over $40 in savings

Non-MA. Locked to Xfinity. Only redeems in Xfinity account, nowhere else.

Slightly off topic, but isn’t the Flex a terrible device? The resolution seems low and the damn thing will not shut off unless you toggle through to the main settings.

I have several Apple TV devices. I used the Flex device to set up Peacock and once I linked it with the app on Apple TV, I disconnected the Flex and put it back in its box. The app is much better (at least for me it is…)

I will likely do the same- however at least I can get Hulu to let me log in on the flex, which for some ungodly reason the Hulu development team hasn’t fixed the Apple TV app to stop crashing when someone tries to log in with a preexisting account. (The Hulu app has been broken since November ‘21!!)

I just re-signed with Hulu about 6 weeks ago for my wife. I haven’t had any issues with it. I had deleted the app off Apple TV, but re-downloaded it when I renewed and have not experienced any problems with it. I have it on two of my Apple TV’s now.

Hate to sound like a IT support technician, but maybe delete and reload the app since that’s what I did when I restarted my subscription?

Did that, a few times, even going as far as doing a full system reset. Literally nothing worked. I went from wifi to Ethernet, got a faster wifi setup, swapped out my modem with a newer model as well in case it just needed more speed to log in. I’ve tried using a different internet service provider and changing the location where it logs into servers to try to up the speed.

Literally the app will crash every single time before it completes the login process. It stalls out and then quits. It’s the latest model Apple TV, and the first tech at Hulu I talked to was baffled. It then went up the chain and I was eventually told it was a known issue they were working on. Every app update I would delete and reinstall hoping it would work but nope. Nothing. What’s super frustrating is that when we got the Apple TV, my wife had a Hulu account which worked fine. We cancelled it because of the Black Friday $1 a month deal that I signed up for and the app had updated before I logged in and we were never able to log in again.

Which model of Apple TV do you have? Did you have to enter an email address manually along with a password or do the old type this code the Apple TV generated to your Hulu account page?

I’ve got the 4K 32 GB in the Living Room which I bought about 18 months ago. In the master bedroom, I have a 64 GB that I bought about 4 years ago.

I don’t have to do any login. When I start the app, it just asks me which user name is accessing the account and that’s it - no email or password to type it.

Definitely a disappointing thing to hear. I can’t imagine being without my Apple TV. I usually take it with me when I travel because of my iTunes library and whatever subscriptions I have up right now (Disney+ for a full year, HBO Max for a full year, Hulu $3 a month until January). I’m using/sharing my subscription accounts with my sibling’s Netflix and Prime account - figured it was cheaper for both families to sign up for various accounts and share passwords for them instead of paying out for each individual one.

Don’t upgrade to the 2nd gen 4k unit just yet if you plan to use Hulu.

Edit to add: literally every other app works wonderfully on the 2nd gen. It’s totally a Hulu issue.
