I'm not too blown away by other Gladiator steels so far. And at least ToC is trying something different with their artworks. But its a bit of a hit (Mad Max, Goonies, Casino Royale) and miss (Ready Player One, Watchmen ,Halloween)

Clockwork was one of the highest-grossing films of 1971. As for Blade Runner, I'd argue that it was once a cult classic, but by the mid nineties, its reputation had increased exponentially and it was already regarded as a straight-up classic. I'm sure the Director's Cut helped in that regard.

A film been considered Cult film is not about box office performance

A cult film means it has acquired a cult following after release

You can have films that has got a cult following that was box office hit or a flop at box office it's all about the fanbase after it's release

Over the years, A Clockwork Orange has gained a status as a cult classic

There are lot's of mainstream films that did well at the box office when released that ended up having a cult following years after it's release

A cult film is not just films that did not do well when first released in cinemas
