Cool -- so the best guesses are Bride, Mummy, Lagoon and Phantom?

Awesome news. I wonder if the packaging will be another digibook? I hope all the films in Vol. 1 get re-released separately with slipcovers the same day.

Vol 1 titles (Dracula,Frankenstein, Invisible Man, Wolf Man) will be getting individual releases the same day as this Vol 2 set.

They better include two copies because I need to put one in the volume one set.
Not sure which of the original four movies I'm going to have to discard but it's not a set without Abbott and Costello so one of them has to go

Just curious, wasn't there a 4K remaster of the 1923 Phantom in the works from Universal?

I kinda hope they include that in this set instead of the 1943 adaption.

I don't think that will be the case, but holy cow, would I love that. It would make SO much more sense in terms of being key to their seminal batch of monsters. I've never understood why they seemingly kicked it to the curb.

Many say Universal isn't interested in releasing/restoring it due to being in the public domain, like many other titles from their earlier horror output. So they keep focusing on the 1943 version they have the rights to. It's a shame.

Unfortunately, most studios aren't all that interested in releasing silent films. We lucked out with Paramount re-releasing The Sheik but I can't think of any other recent silent releases not from boutique labels.

Can’t wait! I’ll do what I did with Volume 1 and put the 4K disc in the appropriate case in the Universal Classic Monsters 30 movie boxed set. I’ve been trying to save space, so this idea is pretty good (IMO). No sense having three sets, when they can all fit in one. This will probably be the last 4K monsters set as I don’t see Universal doing the rest of the movies in 4K. Date on the site reads Oct. 11, 2022.
