Default Cleaning / repair of Veritas V2.4i speakers

I recently inherited four Energy Veritas i series speakers from my brother (V2.4i). They sound beautiful - or at least they did at his place, but now that I have them here they're presenting some problems.

The first is that he smoked for 30+ years around them. I wiped the grills with some water and a few drops of Dawn, took them outside and hosed them off, and that seemed to help. All I can do with the cabinets is wipe them down, but even after repeated assaults with Lysol wipes it's difficult to get the brown gunk off.

On a couple of them the rubbery tops are sticky, and look like they're beginning to degrade. Does anyone know if these are replaceable? Yuck.

Worse - one of the tweeters has blown on one of them. How do you service a 90 pound speaker? (This isn't actually too much of a problem, since he was using these as rear channel speakers, and I don't have a surround sound system so I don't really have any use for them anyway. Still, they're so expensive - even used - I didn't want to junk them).

Thanks for any advice, people :-)
